Port Charles Ornano - Ajaccio - Ajaccio Description :

Ajaccio - Charles Ornano harbours

Ajaccio harbour, and more precisely Charles Ornano harbour, is in the West of the island, in the Corse-du-Sud department, on the Mediterranean sea. Formerly Port de l’Amirauté, Ajaccio harbour is a lively and dynamic harbour at the end of the Gulf of Ajaccio. This marina can be an excellent call before heading for Italy or for the continent big cities, such as Nice, Cannes, Monaco and Saint-Tropez.

Ajaccio is divided in 3 basins: Charles Ornano harbour, which is meant for boating, Bassin des Capucins which is dedicated to business, and Tino Rossi harbour which is rather oriented towards fishing. It has a capacity of 830 berths, 160 of which are reserved to passing through visitors with less than 35 metre long boats. Boats can moor at floating pontoons and concrete docks.

This harbour has a lot to offer to amateur yachtsmen, and in particular to the staff specialised in yachting. Its location near the town allows an access to a wide range of entertainments, activities, facilities, businesses, and craft shops. Day and night access is possible whatever the weather with, however, a few difficulties when the South-East wind blows.

Charles Ornano is a quality harbour, with all the services that are necessary to amateur yachtsmen: fresh water, at dock and at pontoon electricity, bathrooms (toilets, showers), telephone, fuel, Wi-Fi area, a watching service, a dry dock, selective sorting containers, waste-oil sumps, a 50 metric ton hoist, a 20 metric ton crane, and many others.
